Gingers
Hmmm…they must be writers. When we first saw them, they had drinks in their hands. We could tell they were writers from that and the English accents, but in case you missed those clues, well, they wanted to make it easier for us to spot them. They were very friendly, by the way.
Where the hell did this woman get so many ribbons already? The convention hasn’t even officially started yet!!!
My Tonner doll has already found his TARDIS…proof that the Doctor can find it anywhere in the universe.
The first costume we saw coming into the convention. Very nice and proof that Dr. River Song drinks.
5th Doctor & Captain Jack Harkness cosplayers. Very nice.
From the Gallifrey website and Facebook, “Gallifrey One is delighted to make the following important announcement about a very special event happening at this year’s convention: The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson is sending The Nerdist’ Chris Hardwick as a special correspondent to the 2011 Gallifrey One Convention on Saturday. Details on the website!!!”
Thank God they’ve finally announced this. I’ve been sitting on this information for TWO WEEKS and it’s been driving me CRAZY.
Torchwood would like to remind you that the Five & Dime Fangirls have not forgotten to pay tribute to their legacy and contribute to the Doctor Who universe. It took a lot of looking to find something PG rated amongst the offerings on YouTube, but we think we have something you can at least take your teenagers to see…unless you are squeamish about Jack getting a bullet to the head, him and Ianto kissing or aliens being disintegrated. If you are, you probably aren’t a Torchwood fan in the first place.
So “Dime” is over last night. (Dime is my Tennant-fan partner in this video project). She reminds me I need to Tweet these bloody updates. Crap. Completely forgot about Twitter and that’s where all the chatter about Gallifrey is right now. DUH! So this morning, even before I shower, I jump into photoshop and crank out some kick-ass background wallpaper to slap up. Everything matches now…I’m seeing our “boys” on my desktop and on practically every site I own – which is never a bad thing.
Now it’s down to the little things…fighting to stay healthy right up to and through the convention. Pinning my hopes on probiotics and Thieves Oil and so far, so good. Costumes…costumes? If I am working in the green room around people I respect and admire, do I want to risk looking like a geek? Depends on the costume, of course. Something slightly lower key…nicely done, not too scary. Oh man, do I even have time for this??? Probably not, but then who does when you work full-time? I’ll draw from a quote from the Big Finish CD “The Eternal Summer” and remember, “you gotta make an effort, don’t you?”.

Preview snippet. Wanna see what we have ready to serve up for you at Gallifrey? We’ll be previewing some of the content here each day until the convention. Our first offering in the best of Who music videos we have found on YouTube is…
Ribbons have been ordered and there is a possibility the video will have an encore showing in the main ballroom sometime later in the weekend after our Friday morning premiere. This is in addition to the showing in Erin’s room.
Updates are going to come thick and fast now for our premiere video. I am toying with the idea of a phone app and desktop wallpaper and icons. I go with my strengths and the ‘paper and icons, once difficult to do, are now fun side-projects.
Promotion has launched full scale for The Five and Dime fangirls…I’ve shown a teaser to my coworkers and they’re not even going to the convention! Shows you how devoted (or insane) to the cause I am. I hovered over Dennis last night while he tackled Facebook for the first time in a year and a half, showing him how to “like” our posts, then I went in search of new venues to blitz. Gallifrey Base forums, here I come.
Oh, and I have orderded a little goodie for people that show up to our panel at Gallifrey. Keeping my fingers crossed that it’ll show up in time for the convention.
