Torchwood would like to remind you that the Five & Dime Fangirls have not forgotten to pay tribute to their legacy and contribute to the Doctor Who universe. It took a lot of looking to find something PG rated amongst the offerings on YouTube, but we think we have something you can at least take your teenagers to see…unless you are squeamish about Jack getting a bullet to the head, him and Ianto kissing or aliens being disintegrated. If you are, you probably aren’t a Torchwood fan in the first place.

2|entertain had announced plans to launch the channel in January. Yesterday a press release was put out by the BBC Worldwide press office announcing the launch of the channel:
Jo Warren, Head of UK & Ireland Sales says, “We’re really looking forward to giving Classic Doctor Who its own home on YouTube. It will be a great space for fans to discuss Classic Who – we’re launching with some fantastic clips and we’ll be regularly adding to the collection!”
Classic Doctor Who Brand Manager Dan Hall comments, “I’m delighted to join forces with our digital team and YouTube. This is an exciting, new way to deliver content for our net-hungry market.”
Classic Doctor Who will launch on YouTube with over 45 clips dating from the first episode, along with new Meglos clips and an exclusive clip previewing the new Doctor Who Meglos DVD boxset which will be released by 2entertain on 10th January. Meglos stars Tom Baker and was originally broadcast in 1980.
Don’t forget to first pause the background music player before you play this. (It’s the pause button under the right-hand side heading, “Music – Cobwebs (Doctor Who Big Finish CD #136)”.
For us poor slobs in the U.S. who’ll be chomping at the bit to see the Matt Smith Doctor Who Christmas Special, thank the BBC they’ll be torturing us for only a couple of hours lag-time. The special will appear on BBC America Christmas Day only hours after its showing in the UK. Thank you, BEEB, for being merciful to us.
Now I’m going to torture the rest of you and make you watch a preview (only if you click on it) ’cause misery loves company, eh?
Catching up on Doctor Who news after being sick and flat on your back five days can be a good thing when you find little gems in your video stash that haven’t seen the light of day in a while. I still love this one and am sure not everyone has seen it yet. This is for my Sister and her kids who have been asking me for favorite Doctor Who blogs they might enjoy.
